A multi-award-winning director based in London, Jonathan started his career in commercials, making over 750 around the world and winning golds and silvers at Cannes, New York, Chicago, San Sebastian, Kinsale and D&AD. He also directed several high-profile music videos.
In film and TV his long list of comedy and drama credits includes DEATH IN PARADISE, TROLLIED, HEBBURN, DEAD RINGERS, WILD WEST and BIG TRAIN, as well as the popular YA comedies - SECRET LIFE OF BOYS, SADIE J and MY LIFE AS A POPAT, all BAFTA-nominated. He was lead director on GOLDIE’S OLDIES, which won the 2021 Venice Award for Best International Children’s TV. And his feature THREE AND OUT starring Colm Meaney, McKenzie Crook, Imelda Staunton and Gemma Arterton, landed 15 international awards.
As a writer, Jonathan conceived and co-wrote A BUNCH OF AMATEURS - selected for the Royal Film Performance in 2008. His debut novel, THE HOUSE OF THE RISING SON, is published in May 2025. A returning TV series adaptation is currently in development.
